Governmental Agencies

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is the highest body of state executive power in the country, and it serves as the cabinet of government.   The Cabinet is responsible to the President of Ukraine and is under the control and being held accountable to the parliament (Verkhovna Rada).  The Cabinet of Ministers consists of the Prime Minister, the First Vice-Prime Minister, several Vice-Prime Ministers, the Minister of the Cabinet and many other Ministers.  The Cabinet is steered by the Prime Minister, chosen from the parliament with the President's formal proposal.  The duties of the cabinet of ministers are described in Article 116 of the Constitution.

The Cabinet issues resolutions and orders that are mandatory for execution.

There are also other government committees and agencies and some of them carry a special status.  It should be noted that among the important ones are agencies such as State Environmental Investment Agency of Ukraine (SEIA), State Agency on Energy Efficiency & Energy Conservation of Ukraine, State Agency of Ukraine for Investment & Development and many others.
